R U L E S

Turn Sequence

Each player takes their turn to perform the following:

1.   Player must choose a piece to move. (failure will result in a loss)

2.   Player must move a piece forward to an adjacent square nearer into the opponent’s territory, following which player must rotate the piece 90 degrees either to the right or to the left. (Pieces can be moved straight or diagonally forwards). If chosen piece is a veteran, it follows the Piece Upgrade Rules.

Conflict situations

When a piece is moved into a square where there is more than one opponent on its North-South-East-West sides, a conflict occurs. If there are multiple conflicts, the player whose turn it is determines which conflict to resolve first.

Conflicts are resolved by comparing the faces of the pieces that are in contact with each other and the winner is the one that wins by looking at the symbols on opposing pieces in contact with one another and comparing them Scissors-Paper-Stone style. After all losing pieces are removed; the winning piece chooses a space that used to be occupied by a losing square and moves to that location without performing a rotation. If movement to the location causes more conflict, resolve them.

Piece Upgrade Rules

When a piece reaches the row nearest to the opponent, the piece is upgraded into a veteran piece. The veteran piece is marked for convenience of identification by placing a marker on top of it. The veteran piece must move to square 2 spaces away in any direction instead to a square 1 space away forward. Veteran pieces are not subject to the rotation rule: they are no longer allowed to rotate.

Victory Condition

Eliminate all opponent pieces off the board. In the event that both players agree that they can no longer eliminate any more pieces, the side with more pieces wins. In the event of each side having equal pieces, the side with more veterans wins.
